Press is an independent, not-for-profit, tax-exempt
(501c3) small press based in Brooklyn, New York. The
mission of the press is to support and showcase innovative
and progressive work by emerging writers (first/second
books), as well as to restore to print rare and out-of-print
works (again with a special focus on first/second books).
Founded in 2000 by a group of Brooklyn-based poets,
the press intends to publish one to two books annually.
In addition to its publishing endeavors, the press conducts
regular poetry workshops and readings around New York
City.
